Leaders from Automated Insights and Bull City Venture Partners Named Co-chairs for the CED Tech Venture Conference 2017

DURHAM, NC, June 22, 2017 -- The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) today announced two co-chairs for the CED Tech Venture Conference 2017: Robbie Allen, Founder and Executive Chairman of Automated Insights, and Jason Caplain, General Partner of Bull City Venture Partners. As co-chairs, they are leading strategy and plans for this major annual event along with the CED team. In its 33rd year, the CED Tech Venture Conference is one of nation’s longest-running, and the Southeast’s largest, entrepreneurial events with over 800 annual attendees.

"Each year CED hosts the main gathering of our entrepreneurial community to showcase the region’s top emerging companies, attracting investors and strategic partners from across the U.S.,” said Jason Caplain. “I'm excited to serve as co-chair of this year's CED Tech Venture Conference as we facilitate learning and networking to make essential connections for NC entrepreneurs and help accelerate business growth in the state."

Over 120 investors attended last year’s conference from 65 firms including private equity funds, venture funds, angels, corporates and strategics. Over 90 of the hottest emerging and growth stage companies based in the Southeast were on display in the Demo Room, with select entrepreneurs giving on-stage presentations.

“I was selected to present Automated Insights at CED Tech Venture in 2011, so I feel honored to co-chair the event this year. It's a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get in front of a big group of investors and for investors to see some of the innovation happening in the Southeast,” said Robbie Allen. “I'm looking forward to making this the best CED Tech Venture ever.”

In addition to company presentations and networking in the Demo Room, the agenda will feature top industry thought leaders as speakers and panelists throughout the two-day conference. Past speakers have included executives from Andreessen Horowitz, Citrix, Cree, Google, Revolution LLC, SAS, Sequoia Capital, and many more leading tech companies and investment firms.

The CED Tech Venture Conference will be held September 19-20, 2017 in Raleigh, NC. Conference registration will open on Thursday, July 6. Companies can apply now to exhibit in the Demo Room and present on the main stage. The application deadline is Tuesday, June 27.
