CED Launches ‘WhyNC’ Campaign, Highlighting Positive Stories of North Carolina’s Entrepreneurial Community

At Launch, 20+ Entrepreneurs are Featured, Sharing Why They Operate in NC

DURHAM, NC, November 1, 2016 — The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), the largest and longest-running entrepreneurial network in the nation, today announced the launch of its “WhyNC” Campaign, which shares stories from entrepreneurs who choose to grow their businesses in North Carolina.  Home to thousands of entrepreneurs, North Carolina boasts a number of tight-knit, supportive communities across the state. CED’s WhyNC Campaign tells the story of why these entrepreneurs actively choose to locate or stay in the state, taking advantage of opportunity, quality of life, a talented workforce, and numerous other Tar Heel offerings.

“We thought it was important to shine a light on our successful entrepreneurs, the welcoming communities they’ve built, and how North Carolina has helped them grow their companies,” said Joan Siefert Rose, CED President & CEO. “We’ve seen a lot of negative attention focused on our state in the past six months.  Many of the founders who shared their stories through WhyNC could have started their businesses anywhere but they chose North Carolina, and we should celebrate that.”

The WhyNC Campaign launches with 22 stories from North Carolina entrepreneurs featured on CED’s website (www.cednc.org/whync). CED will continue to collect stories from entrepreneurs and will add photos, video, and other content to the website in the coming months.
