TierPoint Announces $200,000 Cloud Grants Program for New and Emerging North Carolina Companies

RALEIGH, NC  – Sept. 19, 2017 –  At the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) Tech Venture Conference today, TierPoint announced it is launching a statewide program to award cloud computing grants for up to 10 new and emerging North Carolina businesses.

Each of the named grant recipients will receive up to $20,000 of cloud computing service credits for a period of twelve months, to be used in a TierPoint multitenant cloud environment.

“As they grow and expand, many start-ups need help with cloud performance, costs, and other challenges, so they can focus more of their time and energy on what they do best,” said TierPoint East Division Senior Vice President John Holland. “Considering our own entrepreneurial roots, we want to help these new entrepreneurs succeed, providing them with essential support that might not otherwise be available.”

Eligible applicants are for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in the state, including CED member organizations, that started operations between January 1, 2015 and August 31, 2017. Applications from these organizations will be reviewed and judged by a panel of to-be-named technology experts and business leaders, based on need, innovation, and business potential. The application deadline is November 15, 2017 and winning grant recipients will be announced in early December 2017. To apply, interested applicants can visit tierpoint.com/NC-cloud-grants.
