Even is Hiring: Member Advisor (Raleigh)
77 million Americans work for an hourly wage. Their median income is less than $35,000 a year—and worse this income often changes from payday to payday, making it difficult to plan ahead. Americans lose as much as 30% of their income and collectively spend $100 billion every year on things like payday loans, overdraft fees, and late fees. That’s expensive and stressful. We think it’s unnecessary.
We’re looking for warm, thoughtful people to provide excellent, compassionate service to our Even members.
For many of our members, Even will be the first positive interaction they’ve ever had with a financial service. You will be responsible for making them feel welcome, and helping them feel comfortable with a new product that’s unlike anything they’ve used before. You will play equal parts friend, therapist, and technical support. You’ll serve people with respect and without judgment.
What we need you to do:
Act as the first point of contact when our members have an issue or question related to Even
Guide members through getting started with a new type of financial service
Set people up to make and meet their goals, like saving for college and paying off debt
Act as a friendly and reassuring voice when our members struggle with a job loss or other life event
Help to scale our team: design processes, interview prospective team members, and identify and optimize for the metrics that matter
Work closely with the engineering team to make sure you have the tools you need to make our member’s lives better
Work with your manager to identify a “stretch” area – a part of the company where you’ll take on projects and grow as a contributor.
What you’ll get from us:
A culture that gives you space to work with autonomy.
A remarkably talented team of peers to help you grow.
An office designed to allow you to create your best work: private workspaces, small group offices, and lots of natural light.
An educational stipend to invest in continued learning and development.
Competitive healthcare, retirement, and vacation benefits.
Carefully defined Anti-Perks (link) that create a focused and inclusive office environment.
Some traits that might make you a good fit:
You have excellent writing skills. You’ll interact with our members via in-app chat.
You are a deeply empathetic person. Our members are often struggling with real, existential crises, and you’ll be the person they turn to for guidance.
You are driven to improve and grow your skills, both in your day to day work as an Advisor, and in the stretch area that you’ve decided to focus on.
You are always willing to jump in and help your peers, and to do the hard work that needs to be done to best serve our members.
Even is used by people of all backgrounds and we believe the best products are built by teams that represent their customers. We value unique contributions and actively welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to join us at Even.
