CED Member Update: LifeFlow™ Rapid Infuser Receives Innovation Award at Pediatrics 2040 Meeting

DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — 410 Medical Inc., a medical device company focused on technology for improving resuscitation of critically ill patients, today announced that the LifeFlow Rapid Infuser received an Innovation Award at the Pediatrics 2040 meeting in Laguna Niguel, CA.

Pediatrics 2040: Trends and Innovations for the Next 25 Years was founded in 2013 by Children’s Hospital of Orange County and the International Society for Pediatric Innovation (iSPI). The global meeting was initiated to explore emerging technologies in pediatrics and promote innovation for children’s health.

The Innovation Award granted to LifeFlow was selected by a panel of health care experts and investors. “We are honored that the PEDS2040 expert panel recognized LifeFlow with this award.” said Dr. Mark Piehl, MD, Founder and CEO of 410 Medical. “We believe LifeFlow is a transformative technology that will make a profound contribution to the well-being of children and adults with sepsis and other life-threatening conditions.”

The LifeFlow Rapid Infuser is a single-use, hand-operated device that allows fast and efficient fluid delivery by a single health care provider.  The device is capable of delivering 1 liter of fluid to a critically ill patient in less than 5 minutes.

Designed to help overcome common barriers to fluid resuscitation, LifeFlow may be used in a variety of adult, military, and pediatric critical care situations, where significant amounts of fluid must be safely and efficiently delivered to patients by emergency medicine and hospital staff.

The LifeFlow Rapid Infuser is currently undergoing 510(k) premarket review by FDA and is not available for sale in the United States.
