Continuing My Journey with CED: Marketing, Leadership, and Meaningful Connections

Returning to the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) this semester as a Senior Marketing Associate has been an exciting and rewarding chapter in my professional journey. Building on my experience from last semester, I was eager to take on new challenges, expand my marketing skillset, and continue contributing to an organization that plays such a vital role in the Triangle’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
One of the most exciting shifts for me this semester was stepping into a leadership role. I had the opportunity to lead our three Specialized Associates in the Startup TNT Program—creating their schedules, organizing meetings with their supervisors, and serving as their main point of contact throughout the semester. This experience gave me hands-on exposure to team management and cross-functional coordination, sharpening my communication and organizational skills. It also offered a meaningful glimpse into what it takes to lead effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

My main project this semester focused on storytelling. I had the opportunity to interview CED members and write blog posts capturing their unique experiences with the organization. It was inspiring to hear firsthand how CED has helped entrepreneurs and innovators grow, and it reminded me why this work is so impactful.
On the creative side, I developed a wide range of LinkedIn assets, including a sponsor post series to promote Venture Connect 2025. I also created a wrap-up video for Venture Connect, which was a fun way to combine storytelling with visual content creation. Being part of the marketing efforts for such a high-profile event was incredibly fulfilling.
Attending Venture Connect in person was definitely a highlight of the semester. Being surrounded by passionate founders, investors, and supporters of innovation was energizing. I had the chance to make meaningful connections and see the buzz of the local startup scene up close.
What truly made this experience special, though, was the incredible team at CED. From day one, they’ve been kind, supportive, and always willing to offer guidance. Whether I had questions, ideas, or needed a little extra help balancing responsibilities, I always felt encouraged and valued. For anyone considering the Startup TNT program, I can’t recommend it enough—not only because of the real-world experience you’ll gain, but because you’ll be surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you grow and succeed.
