Rooted in North Carolina: My Journey Through the Startup TNT Associate Program

As someone born and raised in North Carolina, my passion for entrepreneurship is intertwined with a commitment to my home state’s growth. The Startup TNT Associate Program at CED offered a unique opportunity to explore this intersection, providing insights into how startups can strengthen our communities.

One of the most impactful experiences during the program was participating in the Venture Connect pitch scrubs. We worked with startups that were pitching at Venture Connect to help improve their pitches. As a student with limited real-world experience, offering feedback to seasoned entrepreneurs was initially intimidating. However, this challenge became a valuable learning opportunity, enhancing my understanding of effective communication and the mechanics of startup presentations.

Beyond the structured duties, the program’s true value lies in the relationships I have formed. The CED team and fellow Associates created a supportive environment that encouraged growth and collaboration. Their enthusiasm and dedication were contagious, reinforcing my desire to contribute to the local entrepreneurial landscape.

For those considering the Startup TNT Associate Program, I would like to emphasize the importance of leveraging CED’s extensive network. There is a large community of many interesting people doing awesome things. The team at CED is more than happy to connect you with these people.

Reflecting on this experience, I have been inspired by a community where individuals support each other’s aspirations. This program has provided me with the tools, connections, and confidence to pursue my goals, and I am deeply grateful for the experience.
