Why did you start your business in North Carolina?
Technically because I live in North Carolina. However, when I began the research process on starting a company in NC, I was impressed at the number of resources available and what appeared to be a commitment by NC to support entrepreneurship.
What is the best part about running your business in your community?
Our company is based in HQ Raleigh but our team currently works out of the Cofounders Lab in Cary and occasionally meet at The Frontier. So when I think of "community" it is not a single location for us but the startup community as a whole, from pitch practice at UNC, to SoarTriangle in Durham, and then our office locations, both of which have many resources for startup companies.
What do you believe your North Carolina community has that other startup hubs can’t offer?
As I stated in my presentation at CED Tech Venture 2016, there can be no better place to start a company than North Carolina and the Triangle, specifically. While each community (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) has their own flavor, they all work collaboratively to support and promote startups in NC.
In 3 words, how would you describe the entrepreneurial culture in NC?
Diverse • Inclusive • Collaborative
