Giles is an experienced life sciences entrepreneur with a technical background (Ph.D., Microbiology) and decades of hands-on experience leading and growing a successful agricultural biotechnology company from start-up to scale up, and ultimately a successful exit to a strategic buyer (Novus International) in February 2024.

Along his entrepreneurial journey, he earned an MBA from Duke University, developed skills useful for negotiating a wide variety of business partnerships, including technology licensing, venture capital financing, global supply chains, strategic partnering and learned useful strategies for cross-functional team leadership.

He is comfortable in a variety of environments, whether in a boardroom, laboratory, manufacturing floor, poultry farm or classroom. A bicultural heritage and extensive business experience in Asia has helped shape his awareness of and appreciation for those with different experiences and perspectives. His lifelong goal is to continue to broaden and deepen his knowledge so that he can continue to add value to others.
