During my summer 2024 internship at Launch Chapel Hill, I was exposed to multiple stakeholders across the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Among these connections was a fortunate encounter with Brennan Barber, Head of Business Development at CED, who told me about the Startup TNT Program. As someone who is naturally drawn towards opportunities in the startup world, I was extremely excited for this unique experience.
Going in, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but my time at CED has been monumental to my personal and professional growth. The Rotational Track allowed me to gain insight into various departments such as board engagement, investor relations, startup incubation, and corporate sponsorships. It has offered me a front-row seat to the incredible growth that is happening in the RTP area.
I thoroughly enjoyed every conversation with the team, each of which taught me more about the startup landscape than any classroom ever could.
A few of my most meaningful experiences at CED included networking with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and industry professionals during CED’s 40th Birthday Bash, Investor Fly-In and the GRO Demo Day. I also thoroughly enjoyed every conversation with the team, each of which taught me more about the startup landscape than any classroom ever could. Each team member went above and beyond to connect our projects with our long-term career aspirations, making the experience both meaningful and personalized.
I strongly encourage students to apply to the Startup TNT Program, especially given the growth of North Carolina in the last few years. This incredible opportunity to gain exposure to various industries provides you with a wealth of knowledge.
