Ms. Sheila A. Mikhail, J.D., M.B.A. co-founded Bamboo Therapeutics, Inc. in December 2014 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. In August 2016, Bamboo was purchased by Pfizer in a deal valued at $827M. Today, Bamboo operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pfizer. She has been active in several biotech companies which have spun out of universities located in North Carolina and elsewhere, including Chatham Therapeutics (sold to Baxter), NanoCor Therapeutics, Boston Immune Technologies & Therapeutics, Asklepios Biopharmaceutical, among others. Prior to Bamboo, Ms. Mikhail was the Founder and Managing Member of Life Sciences Law, a boutique law firm focused on the needs of pharmaceutical and biotech companies. She began her law career as a law clerk for the Honorable Martha Craig Daughtrey, 6th Circuit US Court of Appeals, and subsequently practiced law with Ropes & Gray in Boston. She worked as a Management Consultant for A.T. Kearney and Arthur Andersen in Chicago, where she advised several of the Fortune 100 on operational and strategic matters. Ms. Mikhail received a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a finance M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and a J.D. from Northwestern University.
