Don't miss the "The Entrepreneurial Revolution"!
CED is excited about sponsoring " The Entrepreneurial Revolution" on WUNC-TV this Thursday, September 11 at 10 PM. This one hour program was developed with funding assistance from the Kauffman Foundation and aired elsewhere in the nation with rave reviews last April. We watched it and wanted to make sure that North Carolina viewers could see it as well. It's a classic, so don't miss it or make plans to videotape it. It includes interviews and portraits of innovative entrepreneurs like Scott Cook (Intuit/Quicken), Jack Stack and a visit to Austin Texas as a community committed to entrepreneurship. We thank CP&L whose strong support of our Future Focus campaign enabled us to make sure that this program aired in North Carolina!

CED Launches Interactive Web Calendar

Check out the new CED interactive calendar, which allows you full access to program details and registration forms in an easy to access, "clickable" calendar format. Created by Flint O'Brien of iRenaissance, this calendar allows you to sort the calendar events by topic to create a personalized look at CED events and then link to a more detailed description of the event. You can look at CED's full calendar, or sort it by a specific interest like the Software Roundtable or conferences and just see those entries.

Want to know more about an event? Just "click" and you'll link to full details -- program description, fees, time and location and a link to a printable or downloadable registration form. Maps to our most frequent event locations are also online, and we will continue to expand our online map section.

What does the calendar mean to web page viewers? If you are looking for something specific, you can cut to chase. If you are new to CED or want to expand the range of your activities, you can browse the entire calendar of events for a comprehensive picture of upcoming CED activities.

If you like our calendar and would like to add an interactive calendar on your own web site, contact Flint O'Brien at iRenaissance.

Chapel Hill software startup Intrasoft Inc. has raised $860,000 in a second round of financing. The company expects to raise an additional $250,000.

Intrasoft will use the money for the November launch of its software product KeyVision. KeyVision is a network management tool for Windows NT and Windows 95 PCs. It will allow companies to simultaneously manipulate the configuration of hundreds -- or even thousands -- of personal computers on a network.

Intrasoft has 16 employees and expects to have 25 by the end of the year.

A.J. Fletcher Foundation Provides Grant to CED's FastTrac Entrepreneurial Training Program

The A.J. Fletcher Foundation has awarded the Council For Entrepreneurial Development a $25,000 grant for CED's FastTrac entrepreneurial training program. The grant, which is the second installment in a two-year grant totaling $50,000, will support the general needs of FastTrac and provide scholarships for local entrepreneurs accepted to the program.

The Raleigh-based A.J Fletcher foundation is a general-purpose foundation that supports nonprofit organizations throughout North Carolina. The Foundation was founded by the late A. J. Fletcher, also the founder and former CEO of Raleigh's Capitol Broadcasting Company.

CED was selected to implement FastTrac in North Carolina by the Entrepreneurial Education Foundation in Denver and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City. Almost 200 entrepreneurs have participated in the local program since its inception in 1995. For more information on FastTrac, contact Suzanne Cantando at CED.
