Johnson and Randall to Keynote CED’s Opportunity 2007

Serial Entrepreneurs to Share Experience, Insight at Coastal Conference on Sept. 10-11 in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

July 31, 2007, Research Triangle Park, N.C. – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has named Richard Johnson and Richard Randall as keynote speakers for the fifth annual Opportunity conference set for September 10-11 at the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

Richard Johnson is a lifelong entrepreneur whose company, HotJobs.com, was acquired by Yahoo! in 2001 for $485 million. Johnson’s bold decision to buy an expensive 30-second Super Bowl ad to promote his company helped HotJobs to not only become the sixth most recognized Internet brand in the world, but also paved the way for the company to go public and raise over $165 million before year-end. In 2001, Johnson stepped down as CEO of Hotjobs.com and is now active on several nonprofit boards.

Richard Randall is president and CEO of Trans1, Inc., an early stage medical device company dedicated to advancing the minimally invasive techniques for the correction of spinal disorders. Prior to joining Trans1 in 2002, Randall served as president and CEO of both Incumed, Inc., a medical device incubator he founded, and Innovasive Devices, Inc, a sports medicine firm. He was also president, chairman and director of Target Therapeutics, Inc., a medical device company which pioneered the interventional neurosurgery market.

“I am pleased to announce that Richard Johnson and Richard Randall have come on board for Opportunity 2007,” said CED President Monica Doss. “The wealth of knowledge both of these seasoned entrepreneurs offer, serves to enhance the educational and inspirational atmosphere for which this conference is known.”

Along with these expert speakers, Opportunity 2007 will also feature early stage company presentations, Start-up Speed Dating, one-on-one Curbside Consulting sessions and hands-on workshops on starting and growing a business. As always, attendees will experience rich networking opportunities with angel investors, entrepreneurs and service professionals.
