CED Receives Durham Chamber’s Non-Profit Excellence Award

CED Honored for Creativity, Innovation and Community Impact in Durham

May 30, 2007, Research Triangle Park, N.C. – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) received the “Non-Profit Excellence Award” at the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Small Business Excellence Awards on Wednesday morning at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club.

Stephen Gwaltney, BB&T’s Business Services Officer, nominated CED for this award. CED President Monica Doss accepted the award this morning on behalf of the organization.

“CED is extremely honored to receive the Durham Chamber’s Non-Profit Excellence Award,” said Doss. “We truly appreciate the Chamber’s recognition of CED’s work to serve high-growth entrepreneurs throughout the region over the past 23 years.”

The Caring House Inc. was also named a recipient of the Non-Profit Excellence Award. Hamilton Hill and Associate Scaffolding Inc. received honors in the small business category.

The Durham Chamber has recognized area small businesses at this prestigious awards program since 1986. According to the Chamber, their Small Business Excellence Awards recognize small businesses and non-profits for their hard work, creativity, innovation, financial success and community involvement.
