Demos Include Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Technologies; Mobile Robotics Expert Colin Angle Joins Keynote Lineup
August 29, 2006, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has confirmed more demo technologies and announced that award-winning entrepreneur Colin Angle, CEO and co-founder of iRobot, will provide featured remarks at Tech 2006. CED’s Tech 2006 conference is scheduled for Oct. 11 at North Carolina State University’s McKimmon Center in Raleigh.
Angle joins previously announced speakers David Bonderman, founder of Texas Pacific Group (TPG) and Newbridge Capital; Marc Lautenbach, General Manager of IBM Americas; and Jim Steele, President of Salesforce.com, in providing featured remarks at CED’s 16th annual conference.
An expert in the field of mobile robots, Angle designed the behavior-controlled rovers for NASA that led to the Sojourner exploring Mars in 1997. Angle's company, iRobot, has also gained international attention through its behavior-based, artificially intelligent robots. To date, more than 2 million iRobot Roomba® Vacuuming Robots have been sold worldwide, and over 500 iRobot PackBot® Tactical Mobile Robots have been deployed worldwide, mostly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
