Enterprise@Sunrise.06 Recognizes Five Wilmington Businesses
June 23, 2006, Wilmington, NC – Five area companies were recognized at the 10th annual business awards breakfast, Enterprise@Sunrise.06 Friday, June 23. Awards were presented in four categories including Established Entrepreneur, Emerging Entrepreneur, Most Innovative Entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur. A surprise award, Outstanding Economic Impact, was also bestowed.
Larry Clark, dean of the University of North Carolina Wilmington Cameron School of Business, and Connie Majure-Rhett, CEO of the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, hosted the ceremony. William Hall, Jr., senior economist at the Cameron School’s Center for Business and Economics Services, was the featured speaker.
The 2006 winners are: Young Entrepreneur – Hunter Brown, owner, Blowing in the Wind; Emerging Entrepreneur – Richard Trio, owner, Triovisions; Innovative Entrepreneur – Evan Folds, owner, Progressive Gardens; and Established Entrepreneur – Brad Donnell, owner, Linprint Company. An additional award for Outstanding Economic Impact was presented to Ken Dull, owner, McKinley Building Corporation.
This year, there were several honorable mentions as well. These include In Balance Pilates Studio, Cape Fear Wedding and Wilmington Pharmaceutical.
Past winners have included SpecialtySoft, Children’s Cottage of Wilmington, Provis Media Group, Xero Products, Atlantic Quest, Castle Branch, ExpoStar Displays, McKim & Creed, Port City Java, Porta-Nails, Sound Werx Applied Technologies, Vision Software, The Wilmington Group and Wilmington Machinery.
