Local Software Guru and Successful Entrepreneur Tom Looney to Speak
March 15, 2006, Wilmington, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) and The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) today announced they will co-host the second installment of the “Entrepreneur-in-the Building” series April 4. The program, entitled “Emerging Technology: How Software Giants and Entrepreneurs Succeed Together” will be held from 5:30 p.m. 8 p.m. at the Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park in Wilmington, NC.
Featured speaker Tom Looney has spent his career directly involved with software development for industry giants such as Steve Job’s NeXT, with start-ups like Active Software, and as an entrepreneur with his own company, NextChannel, now part of Microsoft. Looney will share his experiences and lessons learned. This meeting also marks the first combined gathering for the newly-formed Entrepreneur Club at UNCW. Student members and faculty advisors will join in the evening’s activities.
Entrepreneurs, investors, and other business leaders are invited to gather for a unique opportunity to network and learn from peers. Following Looney’s remarks, the program will conclude with a networking reception.
Reserve your spot now by sending a confirmation email to jross@cednc.org. CED members can attend for free. Non-members will be asked to pay their $35 registration fee on-site at the event. If you have questions, please call (919) 549-7500.
