CED Selects Two E-Commerce Companies to Participate in September 25 STREAK Public Luncheon

Research Triangle Park - The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has selected two companies to present in this quarter's STREAK luncheon. The September 25, 2000 luncheon will showcase eVincio Corporation and Upresent.com, Inc.

The STREAK quarterly luncheon is the capstone event of STREAK's monthly program, which assists early-stage companies in developing business strategies. The luncheon provides a unique opportunity to see early-stage deals and to network with regional investors and entrepreneurs.

eVincio Corporation, was founded by a team with both management and technical expertise, and has developed a flexible Web content management platform that enables customers to easily manage and exchange information both internally and across the corporate boundary.

Upresent.com, Inc., was founded by a team with years of start-up and gift industry experience. The company offers an online gift presentation service to e-retailers that enables them to offer personalized and entertaining experiences to their customers.

The two companies will present to a panel of venture capitalists. The investor panel will respond to the entrepreneurs with questions that will provide insight about what venture capitalists are looking for in investment opportunities. The panel will consist of Steve Nelson, Wakefield Group, Durham; Jim Newton, TriState Investment Group, Chapel Hill; and Larry Gladstone, Kitty Hawk Capital, Charlotte.

The luncheon will take place on September 25, 2000 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Marriott in RTP. Due to record attendance at the last public luncheon, people should sign up early to guarantee a spot.

The registration fee is $35, and registration will close at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st of September. To register, visit CED's Web site at http://www.cednc.org or call 919.549.7500 ext.114. Register soon!
