CED Receives $30,000 Sponsorship Funding from The Edward Lowe Foundation

April 3, 2000, Research Triangle Park, N.C. - The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) received $30,000 in sponsorship funding from the Edward Lowe Foundation to help support CED's entrepreneurial peer education programs for one year.

The grant will support CED's Information Technology Roundtables, which serve information technology entrepreneurs in the Triangle area and are typically attended by 60 to 80 people on a monthly basis; and the CED EntreForums, quarterly programs designed to provide information and education to high-growth entrepreneurs in a variety of industries.

The Lowe Foundation's sponsorship will also support the CED Executive Series, a quarterly program which targets key decision-makers in high-growth entrepreneurial companies; and the CFO Roundtable, a periodic roundtable designed to serve chief financial officers or directors of finance at high-growth entrepreneurial companies.

"Peer programs at CED are mission-critical and significantly enhance the information and training available to entrepreneurs in the Research Triangle area," said CED Development Director Pam Newton. "We're especially pleased to partner with the Edward Lowe Foundation, because their team clearly understands that entrepreneurs need specialized resources and education in order to succeed."

About the Edward Lowe Foundation Based in Cassopolis, Mich., the Edward Lowe Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to championing the entrepreneurial spirit by providing information, research and education, which support emerging-growth entrepreneurs.
