CED Selects Four Companies to Participate in STREAK

February 16, 2000, Research Triangle Park, N.C. - The Internet is transforming the way businesses interact with customers, and the four early-stage companies selected to participate in the Council for Entrepreneurial Development's (CED) STREAK program next month reflect the latest in these high-tech innovations.

The companies will present their business plans to a panel of experienced investors, accountants, attorneys and entrepreneurs who will give them feedback about their business plans and presentations. The STREAK process allows early-stage companies to identify issues that are red flags in their business strategy so they can tend to these issues before meeting with potential investors.

Profiles of the four STREAK participants:

  • AdRelief.com transforms traditional company advertisements into customized television channels, allowing shoppers to see only advertisements they want to see and preventing them from being bombarded with unwanted messages.
  • Csoft International provides state-of-the-art software systems for the retail industry using browser-based client and Java server components running on most commercial operating systems.
  • LetterPath, Inc. is an Internet service company specializing in transforming standard email messages into more familiar paper letters through a patent pending process.
  • MarketingTeam.com is an e-marketing service that allows members to use email and the Internet for direct marketing and one-to-one communication with customers and prospects at a lower cost than traditional direct e-marketing.

About Streak
CED's Streak program has matched 65+ companies with a group of hands-on, experienced mentors who can provide candid feedback about business and fundraising strategies. Streak participants present their business plans to a panel consisting of investors, financial experts, legal experts, marketing experts and entrepreneurs in a private session. At the end of each quarter, two companies are chosen to present at a public luncheon. The application deadline is the 25th of each month, and accepted companies will be notified by the 15th of the subsequent month. Visit CED's Web site (www.cednc.org) to print an application.

Streak is sponsored by Imperial Bank, an independent business bank offering a wide range of financial services tailored to corporate customers, entrepreneurs and professionals.
