CED's educational programs include formal entrepreneurial training special interest roundtables and industry forums, and a host of additional seminars and programs. Capital Formation

To increase available capital for North Carolina entrepreneurs, CED presents an annual venture conference, annual investment surveys and reports, and provides opportunities to network with venture investors, private investors, and investment bankers. May 2002 marked the 20th season for the highly successful venture conference which made its debut in 1984. The conference traditionally attracts investors from all over the country and has resulted in securing millions of dollars for North Carolina businesses.

Mentoring

CED has uniquely mobilized the professional community and seasoned entrepreneurs to share their knowledge with emerging entrepreneurs. CED members have lots of opportunities to meet mentors who can help them define and direct their businesses through the Capital Connection and a wide variety of entrepreneurial roundtables.

Communications

CED's Membership Directory of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial service providers includes information on entrepreneurial companies, government agencies, service professionals, consultants, investors, and other valuable contacts in the Triangle. CED also produces weekly online news briefs, a bi-weekly member email (EntreLinks) and a monthly monthly newsletter (Venture Update) with the latest on deals, significant company milestones and contracts, product releases and noteworthy developments in North Carolina’s innovation sector.
